My FEATURED Video

A White Boy
(Lookin' For A Place To Do My Thing)
Merle Haggard

A rare look at Merle Haggard in the studio. I shot this electro-film while "Hag" was recording this song. It is not a mixed record. It is RAW.  Just as it was going down. It's incredible to watch him deliver the lyrics.  This song was thought, by the record label, to be too controversial to be included on his CD. Isn't that called "Censorship"?  It is pure, honest, 100% Haggard..

A Long Day In Ireland
an Electro-Film by Thom Bresh

Tommy Emmanuel and Thom Bresh are on the first day of an Irish tour in 2004.

They both flew into Dublin, Tommy from England and Bresh from Nashville.  The first stop that day was in downtown Dublin for a video taped segment to be used on TV.  That was followed up by a live radio show in the same city.  They were then taken by van on a five hour drive to the northern Ireland city of Culdaff where they performed their concerts, both individually and together.  After the concerts, while they were packing up, someone asked Tommy what key a certain song was in.  Tommy immediately pulled out his guitar and gave the onlookers one more impromptu treat.

A CELEBRATION of the MUSIC OF JERRY REED
A CELEBRATION of the MUSIC OF JERRY REED

We Celebrated Jerry Reed
and His Music
With Stories & Songs
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th

The Breshman, Richard Smith, Brent Mason, John Knowles, Pat Bergeson, Buster B. Jones, Chip Young, Don Jones, John McClellan, Kathy Boehm, Darrell Toney, Sean Weaver, Mark Thornton, Aaron Till, Julie Adams, Audie Wykle, Mark Casstevens, Pat Kirtley, Randy Kohrs, Buddy Greene, Jerry Roe, Dave Roe, David Blackmon, Buddy Blackmon, Bart Price and a special recorded message from Tommy Emmanuel..

Jerry Reed was a friend, a teacher and one of my main guitar heros.  His passing was a tremendous loss, not only for me but the guitar world in general.  He was an innovator with his style... Totally unique.  Influenced by Merle Travis, Earl Scruggs and Ray Charles. With the guidance of Chet Atkins he became the last of, what I like to call, "The Fingerstyle Trilogy". (Travis, Atkins and Reed)

On September 15, 2008 Richard Smith organized a musical tribute to Jerry. 21 guitarists played his songs and told their personal Jerry Reed stories. I guess you could call it a "21 Guitar Salute".

I shot the entire event. Over 4 hours in all. I am putting it all together as a double disc DVD to be sold with the profits going to Jerry's passion, "The Wounded Warriors Project". It is in the works.

But in the mean time I have made this sampler of the evening.  It was a labor of love for all of us.  Although Jerry will rest in peace, his music will live on and on..

I hope you enjoy it.

Here Is All the Information

This dream has taken about five years to come to fruition. I would like to thank Chris Martin for letting this happen, Dick Boak and his team at Martin Guitars for making this happen, Jim Stephany for putting it all together and Fred Gretsch for the use of the Bigsby name.

May the spirits of Travis, Martin and Bigsby live on forever
