Guitars
"Hannah" is a Godin Multiac steel string acoustic/electric made by the "Custom Shop" at the Godin Guitar company of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Thom fell in love with these guitars and their company in 1994 during the Nashville Summer NAMM show. Not only are they fabulous feeling guitars, he loves the pickup system and its ability to run all of the Roland synths. Bresh uses mostly a Roland GR-09, and MIDIs out from there. But as a guitar, it is no slouch. Thom feels he can get more gain before feedback, and still keep an acoustic sound, with this guitar, more than any other guitar he as played. The name "Hannah" has no real signifigance other than the fact that Bresh thought this bright red doll with all of her Harvey Leach hand-inlayed abalone should have some sort of "Hubba Hubba" name. He started calling her "Hannah" and the name stuck. You can hear "Hannah" in concert when Thom plays in concert with Buster B. Jones and "Pearl", his custom Multiac nylon string electric.
"Kat" is a Godin LGX solid body guitar made by the Godin Guitar Company. And like most Godin guitars, it is extremely innovative. This solid body is equipped with a lightning fast neck and a pair of Seymour Duncan pickups made exclusively for this guitar. The tone and response are phenominal. But that's not all... There is also a bridge pickup, made by L.R. Baggs, that is equally impressive. It is an acoustic pickup with its own volume and EQ. To get a good acoustic sound out of a solid body is no easy task. This is Bresh's favorite solid body acoustic pickup system. Not to mention that the Baggs pickup also has a synth output. You can use any pickup by itself, or any combination of the three and mix the sound on the guitar as well. If you wish, you can even seperate the outputs with three seperate cords. Tomorrow's guitar today!
"Kat" was named in honor of one of Godin's executives. Same coloring, long thin neck and pickups, ya know.
Bresh plays with "Kat" mostly in the studio. He can get any kind of sound with her. She loves to be in a group!
