Langejans

With the expertise and craftsmanship of Del Langejans, sound from the brilliant genius of Richard McClish and the beautiful inlay work of Bob Malda, I now present the "Super Dualette"..

The "Super Dualette" is, as the original, a two sided guitar. The main side is a a steel string dreadnaught cutaway with a spruce top and and abalone inlay framing her shape. Jim Stephany, came up with an idea to have my initials put in the place where a sound hole would be. The headstocks are slotted and the tuners are pointing down with the exception of the sixth string. I asked to have a "Drop D" Schaller tuner put on. Now with the slight turn of a key, I'm good to go to drop D tuning, even mid-song. On the original, the other side was a nylon string guitar. But on this new one, it is a single cutaway "guitar of choice" with a beautiful orange cedar top, set off with a binding of abalone and a traditional rosette. The neck is a little bit wider than the steel string side and has interchangeable nuts. The guitar is braced to accommodate any string configuration. It can be strung with nylon, steel or my current choice, baritone strings. It has a very rich sound acoustically and plays like a dream.. Now let's take a look under the hood.. Dual RMC Poly-Drive IV systems were installed with a mercury switch to automatically turn one side off while turning the other side on when I flipped the guitar over. The end result, of course, works perfectly.

All of my guitars have names.. I have named this one "Carver". The steel string side is "Kylie" and the other side is "Kolte".
