Voyage-air On Good Morning America
Apr 21, 2008

Monday morning April 21st, a Voyage-air guitar will be played on Good Morning America. Curtis Wright will be playing his Voyage-air guitar with Ashton Shepherd during the beginning of Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series. They will be on at 8:30 – (25 sec bumper), 8:45 – (10 sec bumper), 8:50 – full song (3:30). Keep your eyes on Curtis.

By the way, don’t be surprised if Brad Paisley is seen toting one around as well.

Ashley Cohen's Bat Mitzvah
by Thom Bresh
Apr 14, 2008

Always ready to experience something new, I was both honored and excited to be invited to Ashley Cohen's Bat Mitzvah in Plesanton, CA. I joined Nick and Harvey Leach, Reggie Hall and Michael Ferrucci of Voyage-air guitars as Jeff Cohen, friend and CEO of Voyage-air watched his youngest daughter take her first steps into womanhood. It was a beautiful ceremony with plenty of music. They spoke a lot as well, but since my Hebrew isn't up to par, I'm not sure I understood any of it. Jeff's son Josh and Rabi Rick both played "one of a kind" H.G. Leach guitars. Rabi Rick's son, Max, kept us informed as to which page to be on for the prayers and the music. After realizing I couldn't read any of it anyway, finding the right page became easier.

After the Bat Mitzvah some of us were invited to Jeff's home to play and see some of his spectacular guitar collection. To go into that would take more than this blog!

That evening, he put on a grand soiré with plenty to eat and drink. There was dancing, singing and playing. They even lifted Jeff into the air on the seat he was sitting. After the last dance, we unfolded some Voyage-air guitars, Rabi Rick pulled out his tenor banjo and we had ourselves a good old fashion jam session.

It was a great day and I wish Ashley the very very best..

Shalom!

My Friend Veronica

Veronica Hackworth..  1960-2008
Video Tribute

Once you had met her, chances are you wouldn't forget her. For the past seven years she had become very much like a sister to me. You see, Veronica was Lisa Carver's sister, a lady I shared my life with. So she was a sister-in-law so to speak.

"V" was a rebel, a free spirit, an adventurer, mother, grandmother and a Harley lover.  She had two cats, "Harley" and "Sturgis".

The last time I saw her was on Feb. 23, 2008 at my birthday party, one week before her fatal accident. Knowing "V", she would have been proud to know that she died on a Harley. But to all of us who ever knew her, she will be missed.  I enjoyed being invited by the Carver family to be close during this trying and sad time.

She left two gorgeous daughters, Jennifer and Candice, and two beautiful grand daughters, Jordan and Kaitlyn.

Goodbye my friend..

We would like to thank NAMM, the dealers and the players for their wonderful support and encouragement for the Voyage-air Guitar. It folds in half, sounds great and plays like an old glove..

Thanks Again,

Mardi Gras 2008
Mardi Gras.. 2008
by Thom Bresh
Feb 7, 2008

This was my "virgin" Mardi Gras. Like all other first time events, I won't forget this one either. You might want to see the RoadBlog when it's finished. I was invited to Mardi Gras by the "Wizard" to stay at his Canal Street Castle, so I would be handy for all of the "inside" parties. I was also crowned the "King of Whip" in the infamous "Krewe of Whip". How could I turn down such an invitation? I arrived in New Orleans on the morning of February 2, 2008 and returned home on the 6th. The hospitality was second to none. The Wizard delivered, and then delivered some more. You can't second guess this guy. I should tell you that I initially met the Wizard through my good friend Zen Crook. I think it would be fair to say, "Zen, I owe you one!" We played music, shot video, ate like kings and partied like fools. I'm happy to say that no pressure was put on me to keep up with the "pros" in their own environment. They were just happy to have me along to indulge as I saw fit. I will admit that I found myself grabbing little cat-naps every chance I could. There are many facets to Mardi Gras. The p-rades and the balls. Parties going on everywhere, from the hotel suites to the middle of the streets and all with an ever constant sway to the beat of overlapping musical styles. Strings of beads being thrown from the floats and the balconies. When a woman motions for a string of beads and you toss them to her, she may acknowledge with a coy smile, a flash of her bare breasts and a friendly, "Happy Mardi Gras". One thing became totally apparent. New Orleans, its people, the energy, the music, arts and culture are unique to that city and that city alone. From the lingo to the food. From the sounds to the sights. Beware, it is highly contagious. If it gets into your blood, you may never be able to shake it. New Orleans is the true Queen of the South. Beautiful, sexy, wild, hot and unpredictable. Click the photo to see the slideshow. A couple of faces have been liquified as to hide their idenTITies..
